A couple weeks ago I was reintroduced to the wonders of the DVR which has allowed me once again to discover television (on my own time of course.) One of the shows I started watching was Anthony Bourdains: No Reservations on the Travel Channel.
The show follows author and chef Anthony Bourdain on his travels around the world, mostly to places regular folk wouldn’t head to for a vacation. For the most part you wont find sandy beaches and drinks with umbrellas on No Reservations but you may find cooked Warthog rectum or raw Seal eyeballs. Mr. Bourdain is known for eating things that would repulse most people. In certain cases he finds these odd treats to be good and other times he simply eats them out of respect for his hosts.
I guess what I like about this show is Bourdains no BS take on things. He swears a bit, makes a few sexual references, smokes (I think he quit?), and likes a drink. I enjoy the way he describes the locations, the food, and the people he meets.
So, if you enjoy travel and no BS commentary from interesting people then I think you’ll like No Reservations. I recently purchased the first two seasons of the show on DVD and reserved a copy of the third season which comes out on August 5th.
You can find the DVD’s and Anthony Bourdains books on Amazon…
